The Grassroots Sports Innovation Challenge ran from 2015-2021 achieving a great deal of success and innovation which led to enrichment within Alberta’s grassroots sports communities.

In honour of Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017 Makadiff provided funding in support of unique events/projects/initiatives that furthered innovation and development of grassroots sports in Canada

The COVID-19 pandemic caused major chaos and upheaval in the sport sector. Makadiff Sports recognized the need to provide targeted grant funding to assist and stabilize community sport providers with re-engaging Albertans in community sports participation after many months of health protocol-related prohibition.

The Emergent Need Grant program was an initiative designed to be an early response at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic designed to target critical operational needs and requirements of community sport organizations.
