Donald (Don) Newell, a retired Deloitte senior partner, brings over 40 years of experience in public accounting. Don joined Deloitte in 1974, became a Partner in 1989, and retired in 2017. He has experience serving as the National IFRS Services Leader for Deloitte Canada as well as Professional Practice Director for the Prairies Public Audit Practice. He is now a member of the Deloitte Retired Partner Council alongside his roles on the Auditing and Assurance Standards Oversight Council (AASOC) and at Makadiff. Don has extensive experience working with client management and reporting for a variety of public and private enterprises, including REITs and Canadian subsidiaries of major foreign public companies.
